How Electronic Invoicing Works

SSLPost provides a simple, robust and cost effective secure invoice delivery service by email. It is a web centric PKI solution that allows senders and recipients of sensitive data to send and receive secure emails without the need to purchase their own secure certificates to generate encryption keys. To use SSLPost all both parties require is a valid email address, access to a web browser and their SSLPost password.

Invoices are transmitted securely to ensure that only your intended recipient can read them. The software provides a full “audit trail” and records the date and time that your messages are opened. The solution is similar to recorded delivery for email.

The secure electronic invoice delivery process

• A secure link is created between your organisation's email or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and SSLPost.
• SSLPost sends a secure email to the recipient containing a PDF of the invoice. SSLPost does not retain your data, but uses a highly secure encryption wrapper to deliver your digital content to the recipient.
• The recipient is not required to install any software and does not need to have a certificate to be able to open an SSLPost email. An email client and web browser is all that is required to log into SSLPost and decode the email message.
• The SSLPost software provides a full audit trail and access attempts are recorded and sealed preventing the audit log from being tampered with.
• SSLPost is customisable and can be adapted to suit your organisation’s needs.
• An interactive payment button can be added to your PDF invoices if required as a graphic or text hyperlink. This unique facility offers your customers a secure and convenient way to pay their invoices. The SSLPost Payment Button can be configured to work with most online payment service providers.
